This test was short lived. I was targeting Facebook traffic in the UK for a UK mobile offer on CX Digital. I pulled the links from CX Digital, set up the campaign and came back a few hours later. I saw I had 10 clicks on SocialMedia.com and 2 clicks on CX Digital. This totally did not seem right since the stats that SocialMedia.com were reporting on the other tests were at least close to matching the affiliate network I was working with. I investigated the problem to find that the campaign was made private and of course neither CX Digital, nor my affiliate manager over there informed me of this. Luckily I hadn’t spent much money on this but imagine I just did a $10,000 media buy or something of that nature that can’t be stopped, i’d pretty well be screwed. Overall, Test #5 was a failure but not really the fault of SocialMedia.com.
