I took my trusty notebook with me to the Affiliate Summit event. In said notebook I took some notes. I will now share these notes with you. Some will be helpful, some will make no sense:

- Use Web 2.0 appropriately for huge gains.

- Online video is the single most important tool to building business online.
- Check out the STompernet free content.
- The average person watches 2.15 minutes of a video online.
- 1 Million Dollars per day is spent on Youtube bandwith.
- Video reviews WORK for affiliate marketing – You need a great URL to get people to use your affiliate link.
- Check out BuyTV.com
- Top x Lists In Video Work Well.
- Video Blogging – Daily Video
- Screencast Videos Are Hot – Camtasia
- To promote your video use Tubemogul, Trafficgeyser, Twitter, Facebook & Myspace
- Use different meta data on each video site.
- To promote your video embed it in Squidoo and Hub Pages With Autoplay on to boost your play count and increase your rankings.
- Digg tends to get you more incoming links if you get to the first page. It’s the only advantage of actually getting there.
- Digg users don’t buy.
- Digg users don’t click ads.
- The real Digg Effect is that when you get to the first page you get more incoming links from outside websites.
- Thousands of pages with just 1 Digg come up first in Google….Investigate This
- Propeller believes a blog is news and passes link value.
- Social Bookmarking best practices:
- Do not auto submit to social bookmarking sites
- Submit only your best stuff.
- Submit other peoples stuff as well.
- Submit 6 or more non-self-serving bookmarks for ever 1 self serving one.
- Be careful not to blow Social Media as it can ruin your reputation.
- The speaker uses indians to manually submit to social bookmarking sites.
- Shareaholic is a good Firefox addon for social bookmarking.
- Buy.com’s average user viewing a video will view 3 minutes.
- If your trying to sell something keep the videos short.
- Created – Collected – User Contributed Videos
- $805 Million Dollars Will Be Spent On Online Media In 2009
- Use video responses on Youtube to generate traffic.
- ShopWiki.com
- ShopWiki.com claims to double conversion rates if a video is viewed before clicking an affiliate link.
- Zac Johnson likes to market dating sites to girls who like to fish.
